#Stroke happens due to reduced blood supply to the brain. It can cause slurring of speech, facial deviation, weakness of arm and/or leg, loss of vision and imbalance. One of the causes of recurrent stroke is narrowing/ blockages of carotid artery, which supplies blood to the brain (Carotid Artery Stenosis). It can be effectively and safely treated by endovascular carotid stenting - a non-surgical minimally invasive procedure. This octogenerian had come to India from Oman to get treatment for severe blockage in his left internal carotid artery. He was safely treated by carotid angioplasty and stenting through a pinhole entry in an artery in the right groin.
